Resintex at Compotec & Seatec: to Showcase Crystic Adhesives, Crestapol 1250LV Acrylic Resin & more

Resintex Technology S.r.l. is once again exhibiting at the simultaneously running Compotec 2014 and Seatec 2014 conferences and exhibitions in Carrara, Italy from 5-7 February.

The Resintex stand (Hall D/ 891) will this year be showcasing from its supplier partner Scott Bader: Crystic matched tooling systems; the latest Crestabond range of 10:1 and 1:1 primer-less methacrylate structural adhesives for bonding metal, composites and plastics and the RINA certified range of Crestomer urethane acrylate based GRP structural adhesives; the Crestapol 1250LV high performance closed mold acrylic resin, which can be used to design very tough, light weight parts reinforced with any combination of glass, carbon and aramid fibers.

Resintex Technology has a particular expertise in vacuum infusion technology, hence the focus at the exhibition this year on the Crestapol 1250LV high performance resin, to show stand visitors the design, performance and productivity benefits of fabricating FRP composite parts by vacuum infusing with Crestapol 1250LV compared with a liquid or prepreg epoxy resin system. Due to the high mechanical properties of Crestapol 1250LV, less resin is needed, so a thinner and lighter FRP laminate can be successfully mold ed, which also has superior impact properties. There are also significant productivity benefits versus an epoxy in using Crestapol 1250LV, which cures at room temperature and can be de-mold ed in only a few hours. Several case study examples, of recent successful motorsport applications using glass-carbon fiber and glass-aramid fiber Crestapol 1250LV for rally car body panels which replaced FRP epoxy parts, will be shown on the stand.

Also this year at Compotec, Resintex Technology will be showcasing a number of sustainable bio-based materials which have been specially developed for molding composite parts: the Super Sap range of bio resins from Entropy Resins EU; and Biotex natural fiber yarn and fabric reinforcement materials from Composites Evolution Ltd.

Over the three days of the exhibition, visitors to the Resintex Technology stand will be able to see live demonstrations of the reusablesilicone membrane fiRST Technology system, developed by Alan Harper Composites Ltd.
